Full membership enables to promote Kazakhstan's interests in standardization and metrology, to strengthen the country's image among its member states, as well as to promote exports to the SMIIC member states.

"SMIIC presently aims to interact with all Islamic states and the International Halal Accreditation Forum to develop unified standards and requirements in certification," said Dr Saad Al-Kasabi, a SMMIC representative and the Governor of the Saudi Standards, Metrology and Quality Organization (SASO).

The session's participants took a decision to create the Board of Directors's strategy and finance permanent committees by analogue with the International Standardization Organization (ISO).
