Kazakhstan citizens were warned of smuggled South Korea's cars

The customs officials appeal the citizens to be vigilant when buying used cars, in particular, the cars of the south-Korean production.

In accordance with the requirements of the Customs Legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the use of the cars from the foreign states that are not members of the Eurasian Economic Union without restrictions is allowed only after their customs declaration and payment of customs duties, taxes, BNews.kz reports with a reference to a press service of the State Revenue Committee of the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

Despite these requirements, as of today the free market has the cars that were brought from the Mongolian People’s Republic violating the norms of the customs legislation. The violators used fake customs documents to put the cars to registration in agencies of internal affairs.

The illegal scheme was defined following checking the data base of information systems of customs services of the Russian Federation and the Republic of Kazakhstan, as well as the data on registration of cars in the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

Mostly, the cars produced in South Korea (Hyundai, Kia) of 2001-2010 were brought. At the moment, to ensure the payment of customs payments, taxes, the state revenue agencies take measures to arrest smuggled cars.

In this connection, they appeal the citizens when buying the use cars to be vigilant and pay special attention to check the validity of customs clearance of the car by addressing to territorial state revenue agencies.

The list of the cars in respect of which the state revenue agencies take measures to ensure observation of the customs legislation is available.
