Kazakhstan has expressed its disapproved the crimes took in Rakhine State over the situation in Myanmar and spoke for the fast and comprehensive solution to the humanitarian crisis in this country with the participation of the international community at the session of the Security Council in New York, a press service of the Kazakh Foreign Ministry reports.
Marzuki Darusman, the head of the independent international fact-finding mission in Myanmar, made his speech during the session of the UN Security Council, telling about the situation in Myanmar and the ongoing violations of the human rights against the Rohingya Muslim community.
Kazakhstan expressed serious concern about the results of investigations by the international mission and condemned the crimes in Rakhine State. "The news about outrageous, mass and systematic violations of human rights in Myanmar, including discrimination on ethnic and religious grounds grouds, the ongoing large-scale deportation and systematic harassment of the Rohingya Muslims are shocking," said Kazakh Deputy Permanent Representative to the UN Kanat Tumysh.
The Kazakh Representatives noted that full disclosure of the information on the violent crimes and the prosecution of culprits will be one of the preconditions to return Rohingya Muslims back to their homes.
More than millions of representatives of the Rohingya, with a majority of women and children, still have to stay in extremely poor conditions in camps for refugees in Bangladesh.
"Because of the current situation, it is still impossible to return Rohingya Muslims back to Rakhine State, unless only the authority of Myanmar speed up the creation of new conditions, provide full guarantees of security, as well as access to education, employment, healthcare and stable long-term resources for survival," said the Representative of Kazakhstan.
Kazakhstan highly appraises the efforts of the government of Bangladesh to provide held to refugees by presenting housing, medication, foods and calls upon the UN member states, international organizations to continue providing the necessary support to the country and Rohingya refugees.
In this April, the government of Kazakhstan has provided a humanitarian aid to Rohingya refugees accommodated nearby the city of Cox's Bazar in Bangladesh in the amount of 500 thousand dollars to the sites they had been settled.
