Kazakhstan enjoys more press coverage than its Central Asian partners
It happened due largely to the several successful conferences held between Kazakh Invest representatives and foreign dignitaries from nations such as the United Arab Emirates, Japan, China and Turkey.
Over the period spanning 10th – 21st September 2018 investment news across regional frontier markets remained light, according to the analytical report.
Within English-language coverage, Azerbaijani news outlets led in the number of articles published regarding regional investment news, with agencies such as ‘Trend News’, ‘Today.az’ and especially ‘Azer News’ remaining a consistent presence in reporting on investments within frontier markets. Of note, Azerbaijani investment news was scarcely reported by any outlet, domestic or international.
Overall, Kazakhstan enjoyed considerably more press coverage than regional and Central Asian counterparts, due largely to the several successful conferences held between Kazakh Invest representatives and foreign dignitaries from nations such as the United Arab Emirates, Japan, China and Turkey.
However, alongside regional counterparts such as Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan and Kyrgyzstan, coverage from international outlets across the Gulf, Asia Pacific and the Middle East remained steady.
Frontier market investment news between nations was consistently published in smaller outlets based in both countries of origin and when applicable, in industry-specific publications such as in the case of Kazakh and Uzbek renewables.
Over this period, few Western outlets commented on investment news in Kazakhstan, as was the case for virtually all similar regional and Central Asian investment news.
