Kazakhstan is willing to expand trade relations with Serbia
The heads of Kazakhstan and Serbia discussed the development of trade and economic relations.
The head of state, Nursultan Nazarbayev, during the official visit of Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić to Kazakhstan, evaluated the possibilities of cooperation between the two countries, BNews.kz reports.
"I believe that our today's meeting has been very successful and fruitful. During the meeting, the current state of cooperation between the two countries and the issues of their further development have been discussed in detail. We have emphasized the importance of trade and economic partnerships. In this direction, it has been noted that we do not fully use our potential. Special attention has been paid to international and regional issues," the President of Kazakhstan said during the official visit of Aleksandar Vučić to Astana.
As Nursultan Nazarbayev noted, in the course of bilateral negotiations the parties agreed to further deepen bilateral relations.
"We observe Serbia as an important, promising partner in southeastern Europe. The interest is very strong. We meet with President Aleksandar Vučić for the fourth time. He pays special attention to our country. Serbia always supports all initiatives of Kazakhstan at the international level. We are grateful and we consider this country a close friend of Kazakhstan," he said.
At the same time, the President of Kazakhstan stressed that the meetings of the heads of state at the highest level testified to the interest of both parties in expanding, deepening and mutual ties.
"First of all, this is the trade and economic sphere. Our economies are complementary. We are ready to expand the range of products supplied. Today we have determined that there is much that both Kazakhstan or Serbia do not have. We can exchange with each other. Our economies can do this work," said Nazarbayev.
The head of state recalled that currently there were 20 enterprises with participation of Serbian capital in Kazakhstan.
"We have set new tasks for the intergovernmental commissions on trade and economic cooperation, the second meeting of which was held here the day before. Priority areas were identified: agriculture, industry, construction, transport, energy and others. We are interested in creating infrastructure for accelerated delivery of goods between Asia and Europe. Expert negotiations continue on the creation of a free trade area of the EEU with Serbia. Our official negotiations will move into the business mainstream for the upcoming today's business forum, following which important economic contracts between the two business entities will be signed," said the Kazakh President.
In addition, as stressed by Nazarbayev, the meeting focused on topical issues of regional international politics.
“The end of the 20th century for Serbia was difficult. Tens of thousands of people died in the Civil War, which is still an open wound. But we are sure Serbia will overcome these difficulties. We are with you and wish you success. We have looked at the international situation in Europe and in our region, exchanged views," said the head of state.
During the meeting, the President of Kazakhstan thanked Aleksandar Vučić for his decision to take part in the Congress of World and Traditional Religions, which will be held in Astana.
"I sincerely thank Aleksandar Vučić for taking part in the Congress of World and Traditional Religions. I am sure that the visit of the President of the Serbian Republic to Kazakhstan and his solid delegation is a new impetus to Serbian-Kazakh relations, strengthening friendship, mutual understanding and trust for the welfare of our states," said the President of Kazakhstan.
