Kazakhstan National Academy of Sciences in Almaty celebrates 70th anniversary
70 years ago the National academy of Sciences of Kazakhstan has been created. Today with participation of the President of Kazakhstan, academician Nursultan Nazarbayev, prominent Kazakhstan and foreign scientists the solemn session takes place in Almaty, BNews.kz correspondent reports.
Welcome speech was made by the President of the Academy Murat Zhurinov who emphasized a role of academy in development and formation of the state.
"About 70 years ago the ceremonial opening of Academy of Sciences of the Kazakh SSR which became for many decades the general staff of science coordinating all research works in the republic was held. The National Academy of science celebrates the anniversary at a new stage of social and economic upgrade of Kazakhstan in the conditions of a world economic crisis and the acute fight against the amplified international terrorism. Especially the grown-up political authority Glavy of our state of Nursultan Nazarbayev on the international scene impresses. During strengthening of fight against the international terrorism the Head of state is an initiator of new peacekeeping undertakings in worldwide policy," the President Murat Zhurinov noted in the performance.
Acting, Zhurinov added that today academy completely support the chosen way of the Leader of the nation.
"Members of Kazakhstan's NAS among the first discussed at the meetings the address about the Constitutional reform and the Address to the people of Kazakhstan about the third upgrade of economy and the social sphere fully support the rate of new transformations which is carried out by the first President of Kazakhstan, the Leader of the nation. Our scientists will make every effort for development of the basic and applied researches corresponding to world level and active implementation of complete works in production Kazakhstan was among 30 most developed countries of the world in the next decade," Murat Zhurinov told.
The president of NAS in the report mentioned the main stages of development of academy, having noted that origin of science began with studying of history of the Kazakh people, its territory and culture. The foundation for it was laid works by Abu Nasr al-Farabi, H. A. Yassaui, Haudara Dulati, Biruni, and also prominent Russian and European scientists: I. Krillov, V. Tatishchev, G. Miller, etc.
Let's note, NAS includes the most advanced part of scientists of the country today – full members (academicians) and corresponding members, 14 foreign and 88 honorary members of NAS.
