Kazakhstan negotiates with Latin American states to cancel visas

There are no visa formalities between Kazakhstan and Brazil, Argentina, Colombia and Ecuador.

Kazakhstan plans to reach a visa-free regime with Latin American states. Kazakh Ambassador to the Republic of Brazil Kairat Sarzhanov said during a briefing in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan, BNews.kz correspondent reports.

"Our diplomats and individual government officials can visit Chile without visas. In 2017 the government of Chile lifted consular fees from Kazakh citizens' tourist visas. We work to reach an agreement on visa-free travels of our citizens to Peru, Uruguay and Venezuela. Negotiations to free diplomatic, service passports' holders from visa requirements are held with Bolivia, Peru, Venezuela and Uruguay. I hope we finish them shortly," said Kairat Sarzhanov.

Of note, since 2016 a visa-free regime for Kazakh citizens has been functioning in Brazil, Argentina, Columbia and Ecuador.
