Kazakhstan plans to deal with locusts by drones
Currently the Ministry of Agriculture of Kazakhstan holds a parley with drones’ manufacturers.
“The Ministry of Agriculture plans to use drones to deal with locusts,” Chairman of the State Inspection Committee in the Agroindustrial Complex Azhar Kadzhibekova informed during the briefing, BNews.kz correspondent reported.
The territory of the country has a lot of hard-to-reach places, sands, floodplains etc. it was suggested to used drones for this purpose. But in order to purchase services, you need financial resources. However, we want to buy services, not the drones themselves,” the speaker added.
According to her, currently, there are several companies in Kazakhstan that are engaged in the production of these drones aircraft. However, they do not yet have data on the cost of services.
Our task is to show them the benefit of the cooperation. It is a very interesting project. Drones should be equipped with cameras, navigation equipment, so that we know the coordinates and then can carry out processing in this area, " Azhar Kadzhibekova noted.
Besides, the head of the committee said that this year, 1.3 billion tenge was allocated from the state budget to fight locusts. At present, chemical treatments against locust pests have been completed in the South Kazakhstan region. Meanwhile, work to eliminate herd pests continues in Pavlodar, Zhambyl and East Kazakhstan region.
