Kazakhstan ready to host 14th United Nations Congress on Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice
The Congress is a quinquennial global forum on crime prevention, including transnational and organized. It brings together representatives of Governments, civil society, academic circles and experts from all over the world on crime prevention and criminal justice.
The Agency’s delegation led by Deputy Chairman Mr. Bektenov took part in an Asian-Pacific regional preparatory meeting for the 14th United Nations Congress on Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice that will be hosted by Kyoto (Japan) on 20-27 April 2020, a press center of the Kazakh Agency for Civil Service Affairs and Anti-Corruption of Kazakhstan.

The regional meeting made it possible to discuss the key points of the agenda and topics of workshops of the upcoming Congress in Kyoto, including the complex approaches to addressing criminal justice and crime prevention strategy problems, the rule of law as well as international cooperation and technical assistance for crime prevention and control.
Kazakhstan reportedly was proposed to host the Congress in 2025 in Astana.
In this context, the Kazakh delegation made a thorough reading of the organization and content of the Congress.
In his speech at a meeting, Bektenov declared the country’s willingness to host the Congress in 2025 and its high level of organization.

The Agency’s Deputy Chairman Bektenov met with the National Anti-Corruption Commission of the Kingdom of Thailand's president Watcharapol Prasarnrajkit to discuss the opportunities for collaboration.
