Kazakhstan Secretary of State called to rouse the youth's interest in history and culture
A visiting plenary meeting of the Council for Youth Policy under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan was held in South Kazakhstan region.
Secretary of State of Kazakhstan Gulshara Abdykalikova considers it necessary to rouse the interest of Kazakhstan youth in history and national culture. She shared this opinion during a visiting plenary session of the Council on Youth Policy under the President of Kazakhstan in Shymkent, BNews.kz correspondent reports.
"The main thing is to arouse the youth's interest in history, national culture, traditions, in order to develop youth projects jointly with non-governmental organizations, to open centers for studying and supporting traditional values," said Abdykalikova.
The Secretary of State also noted the need to strengthen the cultural and leisure facilities of young people with the necessary material and technical base and provide them with the opportunity to participate in sports clubs for free by the Ministry of Culture and Sports of the Republic of Kazakhstan, together with the Mayor’s Offices of Almaty, Astana and the regional Governor’s Offices.
The visiting plenary meeting of the Council under the President's youth policy was held in Shymkent. Members of the Government, deputies of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan and Governor of the region Zhanseit Tuimebayev took part in it. Within the framework of the agenda, the value orientations of modern Kazakhstan youth and the key aspects of their formation within the framework of the program for the modernization of public conscience, organization of cultural and leisure activities for young people were considered.
"In his Addresses to the people of Kazakhstan, the head of state pays special attention to the youth. In addition, the President's five social initiatives will give a new impetus to our youth, as well as increase the accessibility and quality of higher education, and improve the living conditions of student youth. 26 dormitories provide services to 7,200 students in the region. In the past two years, two dormitories for 1000 places have been built and put into operation in the region. In the second half of this year, it is planned to start the construction of two more student dormitories," said the Governor of the region during a meeting with the youth in his welcoming speech.
At the same time, the construction of an innovative university is planned in the city of Shymkent. For these purposes, a land of 150 hectares has been allocated, on which educational buildings, sports and residential complexes will be erected, as well as a dormitory for 1000 students.
At the meeting, reports on the work carried out and proposals were made by the Ministers of Religious Affairs and Civil Society, Culture and Sport, as well as leaders of republican youth organizations, representatives of the expert community.
In addition, during the meeting, the work plan of the Council for Youth Policy for 2019 was approved. We note, today there are about 750 thousand young people in the region, which makes up 26% of the total population of the whole region. Therefore, the issue of youth employment is always at the center of attention of local authorities. In particular, the region holds leading positions in the implementation of such youth programs as "With a diploma - in the village!", "Youth practice", "Serpin", "Zhasyl el". For example, as part of the program "With a diploma - in the village!", 905 young specialists were employed, and 5204 as part of “Youth Practice”. Moreover, of the more than 15,000 state grants were allocated under the “Serpin” program, 50 percent fall on the youth of South Kazakhstan region.
It should be noted that the number of the youth who benefit from state programs increases annually, compared to 2015 the indicator increased by 53.1%.
