During the meeting of heads of states of the CIS in Sochi the Kazakhstan side has signed a number of international treaties on economic, political and humanitarian interaction, BNews.kz correspondent reported.

Within the meeting of the head of states have discussed various aspects of multilateral cooperation within the Eurasian Economic Union, including the current questions of activity and questions of organizational and financial character. They have exchanged opinions concerning increase in efficiency of the Commonwealth and deepening of commercial and investment relations of member countries. Questions have been considered both in narrow, and in expanded structure where leaders have summed up the intermediate results of collaboration and planned reference points for the future.

In the performance the President of Kazakhstan has emphasized the special role of the CIS in development of trade and economic relations between member countries of the Commonwealth.

The head of state has noted a number of the relevant directions on modernization and improvement of the CIS.

Nursultan Nazarbayev suggested to carry out audit of the Concept of further development of the CIS and to develop the new plan of measures.

Besides, the President of Kazakhstan stopped on a question of deepening of trade and economic relations of the Commonwealth countries.

"Free trade in services in the territory of the CIS will allow to open new opportunities for our businessmen and will bring trade and economic cooperation of our countries to new level. I suggest to charge to Council of Heads of Government and Executive committee to speed up work on the draft agreement on free trade in services and to accept it in the nearest future," the Head of state told.

At the same time, at a meeting have been heard the plan of the forthcoming works of the Republic of Tajikistan during presidency in the CIS, vision of Turkmenistan on further development of the Commonwealth and results of works within inter-parliamentary Assembly of the CIS.

Following the results of a meeting of Council documents in the sphere of anti-corruption and legalization of income gained in the criminal way, cooperation in a research and use of space in the peace purposes and also about an order of transfer of drugs, psychotropic substances and firearms have been signed.

Presidents of the CIS countries have considered also a number of the important decisions in humanitarian field directed to consolidation and extension of contacts in the field of culture, educations, science and tourism and also have adopted the statement for support of the institution of the family and traditional family values.

At the same time, heads have agreed about the announcement in the Commonwealth of Independent States of 2019 for Year of the book, 2020 – Year of the 75 anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945. 

The agreement between the Government of the Russian Federation and the Commonwealth of Independent States on stay conditions in the territory of the Russian Federation of Bureau on coordination of fight against organized crime and other dangerous types of crimes in the territory of the State Parties of the CIS is reached.

Besides, the agreement of adaptation of the integrated air defense system of the State Parties of the Commonwealth of Independent States to the solution of problems of aerospace defense is reached.

We will remind that today the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev has arrived in Sochi for the purpose of participation in a meeting of Council of heads of states of the CIS. It is the second in 2017 meeting in which Presidents of Russia, Belarus, Armenia and prime ministers of Kyrgyzstan have also participated.

New participants in the person of presidents of Moldova Igor Dodon and Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoev have appeared in a meeting of Council of heads of states of the CIS.
