Kazakhstan starts the first reality show about business

Each Kazakhstani citizen aged from 18 to 25 having a creative business idea can take part in the reality show.

On October 15 Kazakhstan has begun to receive applications for the 'Osnovateli' (founders) reality show, BNews.kz correspondent reports referring to the Ministry of Information and Communications of Kazakhstan.

The project's aim is to create the ground for the development of small- and medium-sized businesses in Kazakhstan by increasing the interest and awareness of opening and doing businesses among Kazakhstan's youth.

A person aged from 18 to 25 having a creative business idea and a vision to realise it can take part in the programme. One should submit an application on the project's official website osnovateli.kz until December 15, 2018.

"21 most prospective business projects will be defined following the selection, their authors will be invited to a business camp where they will be trained by the best business coaches from the entire CIS, and will further prepare for protecting their projects before the judges. The judges will choose the most viable projects, and the authors will be given 10, 5 and 3 million tenges for the first, second and third places respectively," reads the report.

The whole process of training, preparation and protection can be found on the project's official YouTube channel.

Despite that the project 'Osnovateli' is fully private and has nothing to do with public organizations, the project was supported by Kazakh Information and Communications Minister Dauren Abayev.

"Business is the base of any economy, as it ensures the population's well-being, and entrepreneurs make up the base of a middle class. Today great efforts are made to support businesses," said the Minister addressing to the contest's potential participants.

Dauren Abayev expressed confidence that the project would be a good launch pad for Kazakhstani citizens who are determined to succeed.

Larion Lyan, who is a holder of the 'IC Group' holding is the project's mastermind behind.

"I would like to share with today's youth that in my day there was nobody willing to share with me, it is a real-life experience. The experience how to assist one's idea, to work out all specifics, to prepare its realization and, finally, to manage their business. One should think about the number of young and talented guys who give up to open their business, as well as to make attempts. All this occurs because they are not aware of how properly prepare themselves, and accordingly, they have doubts, that causes stereotypes about the impossibility to open businesses without huge investment or contacts. You should think about it, and I decided to prove them wrong. I am to show the youth that it is real with the use of the concrete examples," he said.

The first edition is scheduled for February 2019.
