Kazakhstan to establish Committee for Quality Control, Goods and Services Safety
It is planned to complete all the organizational works on the Committee’s establishment in April 2019.
Healthcare Minister Yelzhan Birtanov has spoken about the establishment of a new Committee for Quality Control and Goods and Services Safety at a meeting of the Kazakh Government, Bnews.kz correspondent reports.
“The Committee for Quality Control and Goods and Services Safety under the Ministry of Health care of Kazakhstan will be established,” said Yelzhan Birtanov.
The Minister has underlined that the new Committee will supervise the quality and safety of the goods and services harmful to human health, the quality of medical services, to oversee the circulation of pharmaceutical products, including control over the observation of marginal retail prices in pharmacies, as well as the sanitary and epidemiological well-being of the population.
All the organizational actions to establish the Committee are planned to be completed in April 2019.
In addition, Yelzhan Birtanov has noted that a monthly review of goods safety within Kazakhstan is undertaken.
“In 2018, around 70 thousand samples of products were purchased, of which 9 740 failed to conform the requirements of technical regulations on labelling rules – 69%, safety properties – 23.5%, and physicochemical properties – 7.2%,” said the Minister.
The main volume of non-conforming products (66%) are import products, while domestic products account for 34%.
Note, earlier the Head of State put forward a proposal to establish the Committee for Quality Control and Goods and Services Safety to ensure safety of foods, drugs, water and toys.
