Kazakhstan to hold the summit of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation
The summit on science and technologies was initially planned in Pakistan, but the country couldn't undertake these obligations. The president Nursultan Nazarbayev has made the decision to undertake it. The participation was already confirmed by 10 states, BNews.kz correspondent reported.
The Organization of the Islamic Cooperation (OIC) - the largest international organization after the UN for number of participants, geographical coverage and network of specialized structures which unites 56 states.
The vice-Minister of Foreign Affairs Akylbek Kamaldinov during the plenary session in Majilis of Parliament of Kazakhstan has sounded that the President has already approved the plan of work on holding the summit, budgetary funds are put, work in this direction goes according to the schedule.
"The initiative about holding the summit of science and technologies has been initially sounded by the secretary general of OIC. The meeting had to be carried out by Pakistan, but because this country couldn't undertake such obligations, the President Nursultan Nazarbayev has made the decision to undertake all obligations for holding the summit. The president has approved the plan of work on holding the summit, budgetary funds are put, work in this direction goes according to the schedule. The MFA is the main developer. Together with MES have also put the budget in events which will be held under the auspices of this ministry. A row a meeting of the senior officials before holding the summit will be carried out," Akylbek Kamaldinov reported.
In the run-up to the summit the big scientific and practical conference will also be held under the auspices of MES.
"The head of states, especially, those who have monarchic structure of power are invited to the summit. At the moment we collect lists of those who have confirmed participation. At the moment the participation was confirmed by about 10 states - heads of states and heads of governments," A. Kamaldinov added.
