Kazakhstan to open a Figure skating Academy named after Denis Ten
A dream of opening a figure skating academy was cherished by renowned Kazakh figure skater Denis Ten.
A figure skating academy named after figure skater Denis Ten can be founded in Kazakhstan, it was revealed at a press conference on the activities of the Foundation in the memory of the bronze winner of the Olympics in Sochi, BNews.kz correspondent reports.
"One of the main directions making up Denis's sports activity was a dream of setting up a figure skating academy in Kazakhstan. We are working on this project, and plan to launch the academy in 2019," said Denis's mother Oksana Ten.
According to the Denis Ten Foundation's representatives, the academy's concept was drafted with legendary figure skating coach Tatiana Tarasova.
"We have a ready concept, and we talked it over with Tatiana Tarasova in Almaty. This is a time-consuming project, and careful management is necessary. Almaty Mayor Baurzhan Baibek provided us Halyk Arena, and now we are negotiating the timetable," said Sergey Kan, a businessman, president of JSC Central Asian Fuel and Energy Company.
The Foundation comes Denis Ten's creative plans into life, including a musical album, film and a collection of verses.
"Today the persons who stood by Denis during difficult times, and always supported him, have gathered here, as well as those who initiated the establishment of the Foundation. It was founded in August to realize Denis's plans, projects. As Denis Ten had multifaceted interests, he was into a huge number of creative activities. So we charted some directions in the Foundation's work, including a music album, a collection of stories, verses, and tales. Of course, it is also about a feature film which has already caught the attention of many people. And it is the 'Blind Love' script," she said.
Earlier a memorial plaque on the house, in which Denis Ten was born and brought up, was unveiled in the city of Almaty. Later, an exhibition in the memory of one of the eminent figure skaters of modernity took place in the city of Astana.
