Not only winners will receive money.

Money payments to the winners of summer and winter Olympic Games are regulated by the decree of the government of the Republic of Kazakhstan No.1435 of December 19, 2014. Athletes receive 250 thousand dollars for a gold medal, 150 thousand dollars for a silver medal and 75 thousand dollars for a bronze one. Also, bonuses are provided for Kazakhstan athletes for the fourth, fifth and sixth places – 30, 10 and 5 thousand dollars respectively, Vesti,kz correspondent reports.

In addition, the same money for the first and sixth places at the Olympics is payed to coaches of athletes, and the athlete’s bonus is distributed between the personal, first and mentor of the team. For the successful performance in team kinds of sport, the bonus in the same amount will be received by three coaches of the team.

Thus, Galysheva will receive 75 thousand dollars, and each of the four short track athletes will receive five thousand dollars. 75 thousand dollars will be allocated among the tree coaches of Galysheva, and 15 thousand dollars among the coaches of short track athletes.

Following the results, the Olympics 2018, Kazakhstan will in total pay athletes and coaches 185 thousand dollars (more than 59 million 105 thousand tenges). Money will be paid from the republican budget.

We note that today on February 25 the Winter Olympic Games 2018 has come to the end in PyeongChang, South Korea. Kazakhstan gained only one medal – bronze in freestyle that was won by mogul athlete Yuliya Galysheva. In addition, the men’s team in short track (Denis Nikisha, Nurbergen Zhumagaziev, Abzal Azhgaliev and Yerkebulan Shamukhanov) entered the top-6, which ranked the sixth in a 5000-meter relay race.
