Kazakhstan to rename three mountain peaks
The Onomastic Commission supported the idea to rename these peaks in honour of the three biys - Kazybek Biy, Aiteke Biy and Tole Biy.
On August 12, such peaks as Roshchina, Kergely-Uzlovaya and Studentov will disappear from the world map that are located on the territory of Sairam-Ugam National Park. They will be renamed in honour of the three Biys: Kazybek Biy, Aiteke Biy and Tole Biy, BNews.kz reports with a reference to otyrar.kz.
The peaks will be renamed as part of the regional festival 'Eto nashi gory' (They are our mountains) dedicated to the three Biys.
The mission to install plates on the peaks, which have the height of three metres above sea level, was given to climbers from three regions of Kazakhstan. The festival will go under the number of three - it will last for three days, three peaks will be renamed in honour of the three Biys, and 30 climbers will take part.
"Today, your trip starts and you are to make a trully good deed - to rename the three peaks in honour of the three prominent Biys - Kazybek Biy, Aiteke Biy and Tole Biy. We see you off from the Ordabasy square that has a great historic importance, in addition, here the three streets connect named after our prominent Biys. Let spirits of our ancestors support you and never get tired, and let a road to be easy," said Omirbek Temiruly, representatives of veteran judges of the region.
The mission will be partaken by 30 climbers, the team includes climbers from Turkestan, Karaganda and Aktobe regions.
"The climbing will last for three days. The first day includes a trip, start from the camp - which is the upper lakes, the clibming will take two days, on the fourth day we plan to descend to the base camp, down to the Sairam Su ravine," said Presindent of the Regional Tourism Federation Bakhytzhan Assanov.
Over three days, the climbers should climb three peaks. Today, after the arrival at Sairam Ugam National Park, they will start the climbing to the upper lake. Then, they will head over the Roshchina peak, then over the peak of Kergely-Uzlovaya, and finally, over the Studentov peak. At each peak, they will install plates with new names of the peaks.
