Kazakhstan witnesses a 6% increase in the number of mobile Internet users
The density of mobile telephone subscribers having access to the Internet has reached 76 per 100 people, against 73 in the previous year.
The number of mobile telephony subscribers has observed at least a 2% increase over the year, and that with access to the Internet - almost by 6%, BNews.kz reports referring to energyprom.kz.
The number of mobile services has decreased by 0.3% year-by-year, and following 3 quarters of this year made up 162.8 billion tenges. The number goes into the red for the sixth consecutive year.
The share of mobile operators of the total number of mobile services has made up 30.1% for January-September of the present year, against 31.5% for the same period in the past year, 47.9% - five years ago, and 52.7% - ten years ago.
For comparison, the share of Internet providers in the total volume of mobile services has reached up to 33.4% in the present year, against 32.7% in the given period of the past year, 21.1% in five years ago, and 8.2% in ten years ago.
At the same time, the number of mobile telephony subscribers has seen a slight increase - by 1.6%, up to 26.5 million.
It is noteworthy that the number of mobile Internet users sees a rapid increase - plus 5.8% year-by-year, up to 13.9 million by September, which is half of the total number of mobile telephony subscribers.
Thus, the mobile Internet is the most attractive provided by mobile operators. In particular, the density of mobile telephony subscribers having an access to the Internet had reached 76 per 100, against 73 in the previous year.
