Kazakhstan witnesses decrease in garment manufacturing, survey says
However, the increase in dress significantly exceeds the average inflation level in the country.
Garment manufacturing has decreased by 2.3% this year in Kazakhstan. For comparison, the same period of the previous year, a 20.8% increase is observed to the 2016 indications, up to 19.4 billion tenges, Energyprom.kz.

In physical terms, the manufacturing of hats (-23.9%), women's outerwear (-22%), men's wear (-19.1%), knitted socks (-18.2%) and knitted outerwear (-15.7%) has decreased.
However, an increase in manufacturing fur wear and accessories (+43.5%), sweater and jumper (by 3.7 year-to-year) is observed.
Increase in prices for wear significantly exceeds the average inflation level in Kazakhstan. In the background of the increase in prices for goods and services by 6%, these for men's underwear increased by 10-10.5% year-to-year, for shirts - by 7.5%. Women's skirts and costumes went up in price by 7.7%.
Also, prices for children's wear have increased: prices for boys' shirts - by 9.2% over the year, children's T-shirts - by 7.9%, for tights - by 7.8%, for jackets - by 7.3%.
