Kazakhstani épée fencer won first 'gold' at 2018 Asian Games

Épée fencer Dmitriy Alexanin devoted his victory to Denis Ten. 

 

The Kazakhstani athlete won the first medal at the 2018 Asian Games in Indonesia, Sports.kz reports. 

Épée fencer Dmitriy Alexanin won a 'gold' medal in individual épée competitions. He won over champion of the 2016 Olympic Games Park Sang-young (South Korea) - 15:12. In the semi-finals, the Kazakhstani athlete won over another Korean athlete - bronze winner of the 2012 Olympic Games Jung Jin-sun (15:12), who, in turn, had a victory over Kazakhstani épée fencer Ruslan Kurbanov (15:14). 

We add that Alexanin had aleary won a medal at the Asian Games in 2014 in Seoul, he won a 'bronze' medal in the team épée competitions 

The 2018 Asian Games are held in two Indonesian cities - Jakarta and Palembang. The Games are held until September 2. The Kazakshtan's national team is represented by 440 athletes who will perform in 25 Olympic sports in 37 sports disciplines.
