Kazakhstan’s regional migration leaders
According to statistics, most of the newcomers are observed from the Akmola region.
Since the beginning of the year, 35 370 people arrived in Astana. The most of the newcomers account for Akmola region, Bnews.kz correspondent reported with a reference to the official website of Astana Mayor’s Office.
January-May of the 2018 year 35 370 arrived in the capital, and 30 981 people left the city, according to the statistics department.
Compared to January-May 2017, the number of arrivals to Astana in January-May 2018 decreased by 49.5%, the number of those who left the city - by 37.5 %. The main migration exchange of the city occurs due to interregional migration: those who arrived in Astana for a period January-May 2018 are 21 322 people, those who left - 16 424 people.
The bulk of the arrivals from the Akmola region is 19.4%, South Kazakhstan - 14.2%, Karaganda - 9.8%, East Kazakhstan - 8.9%, Almaty - 8.2%, from other regions - 39, 5 %.
The Astana Mayor’s Office noted Astana has a positive balance of migration with the CIS countries: Azerbaijan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan. With other countries, the positive balance of migration of the population was mainly formed with Georgia, Great Britain, the United Arab Emirates, the United States, Saudi Arabia, Spain, the Czech Republic, China, Japan, Lithuania, Turkey, the Republic of Korea, Malaysia and Mongolia.
In the structure of migrants by nationality, the largest proportion is occupied by Kazakhs - 89.4% of the total number of arrivals and 86.6% of the number of departures. The proportion of Russians who arrived is 5.5% and left 7%, Ukrainians - 0.8% and 1%, Uzbeks - 0.6% and 1.3%, Tatars 0.8% and 0.7%, Germans 0.5% and 0.7%, other nationalities 2.4% and 2, 7% respectively.
