Kazakhstan’s visa-free regime for the US should be agreed within the EEU – Lavrov
The Russian Foreign Minister ensured that he was not aware that Kazakhstan presented a visa-free regime for US residents and leaves for Astana to discuss it with his Kazakh counterpart.
Foreign Minister of Russia said that Kazakhstan’s free-regime for Americans would not be without elaboration within the Eurasian economic union, exclusive.kz reports.
“I was not aware of it. And tomorrow, I leave for Astana and will have talks with my colleague Kairat Abdrakhmanov. Because, in principle, it will lead to the necessary agreement within the Eurasian economic union, where a visa-free regime runs. We hold talks with our Belarusian counterparts to understand the policy of a visa-free regime,” Lavrov said.
According to the Russian Foreign Ministry, “if Kazakhstan unilaterally presents Americans a visa-free regime, then the consequences for our single visa space should be revised, because the US citizens, who visit Kazakhstan, are not allowed to visit the Russian Federation in some cases.”
