Kazakh-Turkish trade turnover may reach $ 5bln a year
The head of state underlined strategic character of the Kazakh-Turkish relations.
Leaders of Kazakhstan and Turkey held a joint press conference on the results of negotiations in Ankara, BNews.kz informs with a reference to the official website of the Presidential administration.
While speaking before the mass media Nursultan Nazarbayev expressed gratitude to Recep Tayyip Erdoğan for the welcome and congratulated on the victory in presidential elections.
The head of state pointed out a strategic character of the relation between Kazakhstan and Turkey.
"Our relationships based on common history and spiritual values are rapidly developing and strengthening in all directions," the President of Kazakhstan said.
In addition, Nursultan Nazarbayev dwelled on the results of the talks with the President of Turkey.
"Today we held meaningful and fruitful negotiations with the President of Turkey, which allowed us to exchange views on hot topics. In general, I want to note that Astana and Ankara always openly discuss regional and international problems, according to which our positions are similar," Nursultan Nazarbayev noted.
Besides, the Kazakh President expressed confidence that the 3rd session of the Council of Kazakhstan-Turkey High-Level Strategic Cooperation will give an impetus to the bilateral relations.
Voiced out an interest of both Kazakhstan and Turkey in further strengthening of political dialogue and a friendship between the nations. The same time, Nursultan Nazarbayev focused trade-economic and investment cooperation between the states.
According to the President of Kazakhstan, there are more than 1800 enterprises with Turkish capital in the country. The volume of trade turnover between the countries amounted to almost 2 billion dollars last year. And the presidents agreed that in the future this figure will reach 5 billion dollars.
In addition, Nursultan Nazarbayev noted the interim results of the New Synergy joint program and pointed on the results of talks with the "captains of the Turkish business."
It should be noted agreements on commercial projects worth about $ 2 billion were signed during the visit. The Kazakh Leader emphasized both countries should in near future the make efforts to implement the agreements reached today.
Moreover, Nursultan Nazarbayev also called on Turkish investors to actively participate in the development of a transport and logistics hub that operates on the basis of the Aktau and Kuryk ports.
The President of the Republic of Kazakhstan noted the sides talked over a wide range of issues including cooperation in transit-transport, oil and gas, military-technical, agricultural, tourist, cultural, educational, scientific and technological branches. An agreement was reached to strengthen interaction in all mentioned spheres.
In turn, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan expressed gratitude to his Kazakh counterpart for the official visit and highly appreciated the results of the meetings held.
The President of Turkey spoke about the key results of the talks on expanding trade and economic relations, deepening cooperation in the educational and cultural spheres, noting their positive dynamics.
