Kuryk port's new capabilities will allow to cooperate even closer - Aliyev to Nazarbayev
In Azerbaijan, the port of Alyat was opened, that will ensure a full integration of transport flows of the two states, Ilham Aliyev said.
President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarabyev met with head of Azarbaijan Ilham Aliyev in Aktau. A press sevice of the Akorda reports.
The Kazakh President noted that the regulation process of the legal status of the Caspian Sea, which has started under President of Azerbaijan Heydar Aliyev, had received its logical conclusion by the signing of the Convention.
Nursultan Nazarabyev noted that an important event had been held - the launch of the multi-modal hub-port of Kuryk that opened new transport and logistics possibilities for all states of the region, including Azerbaijan.
"We have built rail reods throughout Kazakhstan and 6 road crossings, two of which are on the border with China. We have constructed a logistics terminal in the port of Lianyungang on Pacific Ocean and paved a modern autobahn troughout the entire territory of our state," said the head of state.
In turn, Ilham Aliyev congratulated Nursultan Nazarabyev on the opening of the multi-modal hub on the Caspian Sea and the great achievements that demonstrate Kazakhstan's dinamic development.
"I am very pleased to once again visit the land of brotherly Kazakhstan. For us, the Mangystau area is very close both in terms of history and geography. New possibilities of the port of Kuryk will allow us to cooperate even closer," said Presindent of Azerbaijan.
Ilham Aliyev told that in May of the present year Azerbaijan had opened the port of Alyat that would ensure a full integration of transport flows and noted that political and economic advantages from the use of transit possibilities of the two states.
"The Caspian Sea has turned into an external transport artery. I would like to specially note Your contribution to the reaching a consensus on many difficult issues. We will seek to implement all provisions of the Convention and to make the Caspian Sea to further play the role of a stabilizer in the region," said the President of the REpublic of Azerbaijan.
We note that earlier the head of state met with Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedow.
