KZT 580 billion invested in Kazakhstan’s transport-logistic sector within 6 months
The main volume of the capital investments to transport-logistic sector is reached due to business own funds.
578.5 billion tenge was invested into transport and storing sphere for January -June 2018. It is by 37% more than in the last one. Taking into account an inflation, growth in comparable prices amounted to 30.1%, energyprom.kz informs.
The largest part of the capital investments comes to Astana (25.2%), Atyrau region (16.5%) and Mangystau region (12.8%).
It should be reminded the Republic of Kazakhstan implements a number of projects in the transport sector: the network of oil/gas pipelines is being modernized and expanded, airport infrastructure is being updated, the Aktau seaport and the dry port of Khorgos are developing, roads are being constructed and transport corridors are being opened, including international ones, for example, the framework of the Pan-Eurasian project New Silk Road, etc.
When developing infrastructure projects, the public-private partnership’s mechanism is actively used, and both Kazakhstani and foreign investors are involved in the public-private partnership. So, the main volume of capital investments in the transport and logistics sector was provided by own means of business - 35.4% of the entire investment portfolio of the industry.
Another 32.9% were borrowed funds, 23% - funds from the budget of the Republic of Kazakhstan, both Republican and local, and 8.8% - bank loans.
The transport and logistics sector demonstrate strong growth. So, last year the gross added value of the infrastructure sector reached 4.3 trillion tenge - this is 8.2% of the GDP of Kazakhstan.
Net GVA growth, taking into account inflation, was 4.8% (for comparison, GDP as a whole was 4%).
