London has seen presentation of Astana International Financial Centre
The number of residents of the AIFC reaches 100 companies.
A presentation of the Astana International Financial Centre took place in London under the supported by the Embassy of the Republic of Kazakhstan in Great Britan, a press service of the Financial Centre reports.
According to AIFC Governor Kairat Kelimbetov, the Centre has implemented the international standards to regulate financial services and transactions in stock markets. The number of residents of the AIFC reaches 100 companies, and a start has been given to bids on Astana International Exchange (AIX).
"For me, it is a great honor to present the capacity of the AIFC to our colleagues, partners and potential clients from Great Britain. We have established a full-fledged multifunctional ecosystem that has all the instruments necessary for investors. The legislation of the AIFC, that is based on English common law, create all conditions for fully safe investment not only in Kazakhstan but also in the EEU and Central Asian states," said Kelimbetov.
The event was also attended by Kazakh Ambassador to Great Britain Yerlan Idrissov, Chairman of the AIX Board Timothy Bennett, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Astana Financial Services Authority (AFSA) Barbara Judge.
"Kazakhstan is a country open for business and direct foreign investment. Evidence of this is the establishment of the Astana International Financial Centre with its legal framework based on the best world practices. I am sure that the AIFC will facilitate the bilateral relations between Kazakhstan and Great Britain, and will be a solid platform for long-term and mutually beneficial cooperation," said Kazakh Ambassador to Great Britain Yerlan Idrissov.
The Astana International Financial Centre was presented in Baku, Azerbaijan, on December 3. Interest to the Centre arises due to a broad spectrum of services and unprecedented privileges for businessmen. It, firstly, includes tax exemption, free-of-charge offices within the EXPO city, as well as a 5-year visa-free regime for employees and their family members.
