Mazhilis Chairman met with Vice Speakers of several Parliaments
The meetings took place on the margins of the International Parliamentary Conference themed 'Astana - the center of global integration, peace and security' timed to the Day of the First President.
Mazhilis Chairman Nurlan Nigmatulin held bilateral meetings with Vice Speakers of the Parliaments of the foreign states, BNews.kz reports referring to a press service of the Mashilis.
While discussing the further areas of Kazakh-Russian interparliamentary interaction with Vice Speaker of the State Duma Sergey Neverov, the importance of an active use of the potential of the Interparliamentary Commission, relevant committees and cooperation groups was noted. Skeaping of the strategic partnership of the two states, special attention was placed to the results of the 15th Forum of Interregional Cooperation held in the Kazakh city of Petropavl with the participation of heads of Kazakhstan and Russia Nursultan Nazarbayev and Vladimir Putin.
In the talk with Vice Speaker of the National Assembly of Azerbaijan Ziyafet Askerov, Mazhilis Chairman Nurlan Nigmatulin noted the importance of the signing of the Convention of the Legal Status of the Caspian Sea, which, according to Nigmatulin, opens a new benchmark in the history of the interaction of the Caspian states. The interlocutors also stood up for the development of relations between Kazakh and Azerbaijani parliamentarians.
The Mazhilis Speaker discussed perspective areas of Kazakh-Turkish interparliamentary cooperation with Vice Speaker of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey Mustafa Şentop. According to Nigmatulin, it could be a joint work on the projects initiated by Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev aimed at updating the Turkic heritage.
As Nurlan Nigmatulin noted in the talk with Vice Speaker of the Seimas of the Republic of Lithuania Remigijus Žemaitaitis, the strengthening of interparliamentary dialogue with Lithuanian parliamentarians is one of the main areas of the Mazhilis's activities. The sphere of 'new economy', primarily digital and financial technologies, serves as a huge potential to enhance Kazakh-Lithuanian cooepration.
In the talk with Vice Speaker of the Supreme Council Assel Koduranova, the Mazhilis Speaker called the interaction of Kazakh and Kyrgyz parliamentarians as main in the partnership of the two states.
The Mazhilis Chairman thanked the parliamentarians for taking part in the Conference and underlined the importance to coordinate efforts of the deputies to search for solutions to the pressing issues of the international agenda.
In turn, the interlocutors noted the high level of the event and expressed readiness to expand interactions.
