Medicines’ electronic purchase to be launched in Kazakhstan

An electronic portal for the purchase of medicines will be launched in Kazakhstan. It will be presented on July 17 this year,” Minister of Healthcare of the Republic of Kazakhstan Yelzhan Birtanov told this during the press conference, BNews.kz correspondent reports.
“A transfer to e-format will be a significant innovation in a purchase of the Single Distributor for the 2019 year. Currently, a new electronic portal has been developed, on the platform of which purchases of medicines will be conducted. It will be presented on July 17, and the next purchases of SC-Pharmacy will already be conducted in electronic format," Birtanov explained.
According to him, providing the population with affordable and necessary medicines is the most important socially important issue. Analysis of drug provision in the country over the past 10 years shows an increase of 2.5 times in the number of titles, purchased medicines, the amount of government funding increased 6.4-fold.
At the same time, the number of patients provided with medicines at the expense of the state budget has increased by almost 15% over the past 5 years.
“In order to provide for effectiveness and transparency of the processes of the medicine supply, centralization of procurement of outpatient medicines; organization of purchases online was carried out this year. As a result, the economy of the budget worth 23 billion tenge was reached,” the head of the authority noted.
