National WorldSkills Kazakhstan Championship starts in Astana
350 participants around Kazakhstan demonstrate their skills in technical and vocational areas.
The 4th WorldSkill Kazakhstan championship held by the Ministry of Education and Science with NJSC Kasipkor has begun in the capital city of Kazakhstan, Astana, Bnews.kz correspondent reports.
350 students of colleges and universities have gathered in Astana to demonstrate their skills and professionalism. They compete in stonework, painting and decorative works, confectionary, electronics, web-design, catering and so on.
"Today's event take an exceptional place as young persons, future specialists trained for various sectors of the economy take part in it. Competitions include 30 specialties, including contest tasks designed by head experts. Over 3 days, the guys should solve them. For instance, receptionists should demonstrate how to welcome clients, as well as how to deal with conflict situations. Following the competition, the colleges training the best specialists are revealed," said Deputy Chairman of the Board of Kasipkor Holding Asima Bimendina.
Kazakhstan joined WorldSkills International in 2014. This year the championship is held for the fourth time. The winners will represent the country in Kazan in 2019 at the interaction level. Of note, that the last year Kazakh young specialists took part in 2017 WorldSkills in Abu Dhabi, and this fall the national team of Kazakhstan has taken 10th place at 2018 EuroSkills in Budapest.
WorldSkills is a non-commercial movement aiming at not only increase the prestige of specialties, but also to celebrate the idea of professionalism. The authority of such events as WorldSkills Kazakhstan is very high among young persons and focuses to increase the quality of technical and vocational education.
