Nazarbayev instructed to comprehensively work out teachers' status improvement
The head of state received rector of Abai Kazakh National Pedagogical University Takir Balykbayev.
During the meeting, the head of state heard reports on the University's activity and the world held within the implementation of the Address: "Growing Welfare of Kazakh Citizens: Increase in Income and Quality of Life."
The President of Kazakhstan underlined the role of Abai Kazakh National Pedagogical University in the formation and development of the system of high education in the country.
"The University is one of the first high universities of Kazakhstan. It can be said that its establishment laid the foundation of the system of higher education in our country. I am sure that you and all the professors and teachers continue to contribute to the development of education in our country," said Nursultan Nazarbayev.
The head of state noted that the recent Address to the people of Kazakhstan pays special attention to the educational outreach activity and the improvement of living standards of students.
"To improve the status of teachers is an important task. Your University should be among the firsts in its implementation. It should be comprehensively worked out," said the President.
Nursultan Nazarbayev also underlined the necessity of compliance with the requirements of the modern scientific and technical progress.
"It is necessary to cooperate and collaborate with the leading universities of the country, as well as to share experiences and establish a work to increase the status of the University. The University should be the leading university in pedagogical knowledge," said the head of state.
The Kazakh President also congratulated the University's rector on the 90th anniversary and conveyed congratulation words to professors and teachers and students on the remarkable data.
In his turn, Takir Balykbayev reported Nursultan Nazarbayev on the progress of implementing the tasks of the recent Address and the results of the development plans of the University. According to the rector, the University entered the top-500 universities of the world according to QS World University Bankings 2019.
