Nazarbayev makes a statement upon the end of operations to return Kazakh nationals from Syria
Kazakhstan will keep on returning the children captive in the war zones
Following the humanitarian operation held by Kazakh law enforcement bodies and the Foreign Ministry on January 6, 47 Kazakh citizens, including 30 children, were returned from Syria. Upon their arrival, the state provided them support.
“They were held in captivity by terrorists, after having been taken to the crisis-ridden country by fraudulent means. News about salvation brings delight to these innocent people once caught in such a difficult situation. All they will undergo a month of adaptation and receive necessary medical aid. The efforts will facilitate the prevention of such cases. Kazakhstan keeps providing support to its citizens irrespective of their location. Our main task is to ensure their safety, protect the integrity and unity of the country. We will continue working to return the children captive in the war zones,” reads the Kazakh Head of State’s announcement, published on a website of Akorda.
