Nazarbayev met with Nokia Corporation's head in Finland
The head of state makes a working visit to Finland.
A meeting of the President of Kazakhstan with Chairman of the Board of Directories of Nakia Corporation Risto Siilasmaa was held in Helsinki. During the meeting, Nursultan Nazarbayev noted that Nokia branded phones remained famous around the world by their achievements in the telecommunication sphere and underlined that the company had been established as a reliable partner in Kazakhstan, BNews.kz correspondent reports.
"Nokia Corporation has been cooperating with our country since 2007. The company's turnover reaches 20 billion US dollars," said the head of state.
Nursultan Nazarbayev told the company's head that Kazakhstan had set a task to increase labour productivity by introducing automatization, robotization and artificial intelligence in manufacturing processes, and dwelled on the implementation of the Digital Kazakhstan national programme.
In turn, Risto Siilasmaa thanked Nursultan Nazarbayev for the opportunity to hold a meeting and expressed high interest in cooperation with companies from Kazakhstan.
"You are a very famous person around the globe, one of few heads of state who understands the importance of technological development. I am well aware that you pay great attention to digital technologies," said Siilasmaa.
Following the meeting, they discussed the introduction of new communication technologies, including 5G in the implementing projects to digitalize economic sectors and to develop an innovative ecosystem.
