The head of state noted the contribution of Zhanybek Karibzhanov to the development of Kazakhstan and the strengthening of the country's independence.

Nursultan Nazarbayev met with state figure Zhanybek Karibzhanov, BNews.kz reports with reference to Akorda.

The President noted the contribution of Zhanybek Karibzhanov to the development and strengthening of Kazakhstan's independence.

Nursultan Nazarbayev stressed that in his time Zhanybek Karibzhanov occupied important positions in the civil service and fulfilled all the duties assigned to him with high responsibility.

Zhanybek Karibzhanov was born on November 23, 1948 in the village of Aibas in the Sherbakulsky District of Omsk Oblast of the Russian Federation.

In 1971 he graduated from the Omsk Agricultural Institute named after Kirov. He is a graduate student of the All-Union Research and Design Institute of Cybernetics, scientist agronomist-economist, candidate of economic sciences.

He took the position of Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Agriculture, Governor of Akmola region. He also served as adviser to the President, Ambassador of Kazakhstan to the People's Republic of China. From 2007 to 2008 he held the post of Governor of East Kazakhstan region.

He was awarded the Orders of Parasat, Dostyk of II degree and medals.
