Nazarbayev sent a condolence telegram to Putin with regard to the aircraft crash in Syria

In the aftermath of the crash of the transport aircraft An-26, 39 people died – the military and crew.

A condolence telegram addressed to President of Russia Vladimir Putin was sent by head of state Nursultan Nazarbayev, Akorda reports.

The head of state with deep sorrow received the news on the tragic death of people in the aftermath of the crash of the Russian transport aircraft An-26 in Syria.

“Expressing empathy, the entire people of Kazakhstan and I ask to offer condolences and support to relatives and family members of those killed in the crash,” says the telegram.

The board of An-26 had the Russian military – 33 passengers and six crew members, no survivors, says the Russian media.

The aircraft that headed from Aleppo crashed in 500 meters from the runway of Bassel al-Assad International Airport. The preliminary cause of the crash was the technical malfunction, the Ministry of Defense of Russia said. The head Military Prosecutor’s Office have initiated examination. The Russian Investigative Committee have initiated criminal proceedings under the Article on the violation of the flight rules.
