Nazarbayev supports the Belarussian candidacy to the post of CSTO Secretary-General
At the talk, the President of Kazakhstan underlined the importance of effective functioning of the CSTO.
President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev met with Secretary of State of the Security Council of the Republic of Belarus Stanislav Zas, Akorda informs.
At the meeting, Nursultan Nazarbayev supported Stanislav Zas's candidacy to the post of CSTO Secretary-General.
"The Heads of State took a decision to endorse your candidacy put forward by Alexander Grigoryevich Lukashenko. You have already held meetings with the Heads of the Organization's member states. You have already been in Bishkek, as the Kyrgyz Republic chairs the CSTO. I am convinced that your meetings went through well," said the President of Kazakhstan.
The Head of State noted that Stanislav Zas has all the necessary skills and knowledge to take on the post.
"You have a military education and the necessary skills, as well as had the experience working in the General Staff, the Security Council of Belarus. You are well aware of the CSTO, took part in various meetings and gatherings. We will support you," said Nursultan Nazarbayev.
