Nazarbayev talks about cooperation between Kazakhstan and Finland

The head of state emphasized the successfulness and potential of cooperation between Kazakhstan and Finland and underlined that all conditions were created to realise it. 

 

Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev and President of Finland Sauli Niinistö held a briefing for the media following the official visit to Finland, a press service of the Akorda reports. 

Answering the questions of journalists, the head of state thanked the President of Finland for warm welcome noting that over 20 years of bilateral cooperation, relations between the two states have reached a high partnership level. 

"Today, we have discussed the state and prospects of bilateral and multilateral cooperation in detail in the atmosphere of mutual trust. Kazakhstan and Finland hade the same principles towards dealing with the most current issues of regional and international polities," said Nursultan Nazarbayev. 

In the context of Finland's upcoming presidency in the European Union, the Kazakh President expressed the hope for active support by the Finnish side to the deepening of dialogue within the expanded partnership and cooperation agreement between the Republic of Kazakhstan and the European Union. 

The head of state emphasized the successfulness and potential of cooperation between Kazakhstan and Finland and underlined that all conditions were created to realise it. 

"Regular political dialogue at high level occurs between our states, a favourable business climate is being formed, a contractual and legal and institutional base of interaction is being strengthened, as well as air traffic runs. All these opportunities should be applied fully," said Kazakh President.

Kazakh President dwelled on the results of the recent negotiations and outlined the interest of Finnish partners to develop bilateral economic links.  

"We have agreed to increase the efficiency of the Kazakhstan-Finland Intergovernmental Commission on trade and economic cooperation, as well as to accelerate the launch of the working groups established within it in such areas as energy, transport, agriculture and education. We have also discussed new possibilities for Finnish capital and technologies' presence in projects to modernize Kazakhstan's economy," said the head of state.

Nursultan Nazarbayev told about the plans to implement the best Finnish solutions in the area of 'green' economy in various regions of Kazakhstan and underlined that the parties had defined processing sectors, innovative and knowledge-based as priority directions for cooperation, as well as export-orientated industries. 

Talking about the advantages of Kazakhstan's geographical location, the head of state pointed out the new emerging prospects to develop Suomi's export potential and to enhance the competitiveness of Finland's economy. 

"After the start of railway routes with the participation of logistics companies of Kazakhstan and Finald, prerequisites to create a transit-transport alliance between our states open," said the Kazakh head of state. 

In addition, Nursultan Nazarbayev told the journalists about the meeting with representatives of Finland's business circles, as well as the launch of new business projects that will give an impetus to reciprocal cooperation. 

The head of state highly appraised the following talks and expressed confidence that the recent visit would further strengthen and deepen the partnership for the benefit of the two states.  

At the end of official visit to the Republic of Finland, the head of state laid flowers to the grave of Carl Gustaf Emil Mannerheim, and to the 'Crest of the Heroes' memorial erected on the common grave of Finnish soldiers in the Hietaniemi Cemetery, and paid tribute to the memory of the died sons of the Finnish people.

The members of Kazakhstan's official delegation have also attended the solemn ceremony of laying flowers.
