Kazakh leader tasks to expand programme supporting volunteers
The President noted that it is necessary to strengthen the role of the non-governmental sector in implementing the youth policy.
During his speech at the 8th Civil Forum, Nursultan Nazarbayev instructed to expand the programme to support volunteering in Kazakhstan, BNews.kz correspondent reports. As the holding of EXPO 2017 in Astana and the Universiade in Almaty demonstrated its demand and effectiveness.
The head of state underlined that the young generation must be attracted to works with social projects.
"At the current stage, it is necessary to attract volunteers to social projects. For instance, coaching over children's homes, that's what we talked about - targeted assistance and the socially vulnerable category of the population, as well as other undertakings. As I've already said 'Dom mamy' (Mother's Home) is a good project initiated by BI Group Head Aidyn Rakhimbayev. I know that businessmen especially work on the treatment of autism in diverse regions. This is a good deed," said the head of state.
Also, the President noted that the year of 2019 was announced as the year of young persons. So it is necessary to strengthen the role of the non-governmental sector in implementing the youth policy.
"Everyone thinks that we are to give away all the benefits to the youth in the year of young persons. It has nothing to with it. But, it implies the participation of our young persons in all affairs of our state, all the initiatives and programmes. Over the last 5 years, 1200 enterprises have been constructed, where people come to find a job. These are the places where we should find our young people," said Nursultan Nazarbayev.
Today, Astana has held the 8th Civil Forum during which the President entrusted the Government to design a Civil Society Development Concept until 2025.
