Nazarbayev thanked Karaganda citizens for the gift on 20th anniversary of Astana

The President of Kazakhstan sent the letter to the Governor of the region.

The Kazakh head of state expressed gratitude to residents of Karaganda region for the gift on the 20th anniversary of Astana, BNews.kz correspondent reports.

“Yerlan Zhakanovich! Wholeheartedly congratulate You and all residents of Karaganda region on the 20th anniversary of Astana! The significant anniversary of the capital city of the country, the symbol of Kazakhstan’s independence, is our own holiday.

The entire people of Kazakhstan took part in the construction of the sublime capital city in the heart of Saryarka. As part of the project of Regions as a Gift to Astana, the special gift was presented by Karaganda region as well. The Kazak eline myn algys (Great gratitude to the Kazakh people) has an important historical role for our country.

Embodying the tragic fate of the violently settled peoples to our country, it demonstrates the great humanism of Kazakhs, friendship and unity in our polyethnic society.

The Ulytau Alley on the territory of the capital’s botanic garden will turn into the place of attraction and rest of citizens, that is developed by efforts of Karaganda residents. I express You and all residents of the region huge gratitude for a huge contribution to the prosperity of Astana.

Wish everyone strong health and well-being!” says the letter.

We note that a replica of the stone that was found in the peak Altyn shoky was installed in the Ulytau Alley. The stone has the inscription of Amir Timur. The original stone is in the State Hermitage Museum in Saint Petersburg. Scholars believe that the inscription on the stone was made in 1391, during the well-known attack of Tamerlane to the Golden Horde.  The replica of the stone will be installed for public viewing in the centre of Astana.
