Kamyshbek Konkabayev now performs this function.

Kazakh heavyweight Kamyshbek Konkabayev has been elected as the steersman of the boxing team of Kazakhstan, Olympic.kz informs.

He was elected during the sports training camp taking place at the AIBA base.

“It is a huge responsibility for me. I believe I should be a role model for many boxers, sportsmen. Since the New Year, young boxers have joint the team and our head trainer was changed. We will forge ahead, and protect the integrity of Kazakhstan,” said Konkabayev.

This sports training camp is the first as Kazakh boxers have started their preparations for a season trained by new trainer Galymbek Keezhebayev.

The function was previously performed by Adilbek Niyazymbetov, who ended his career in the past year.
