Nursultan Nazarbayev outlines José Manuel Barroso's contribution to building relations between Kazakhstan and EU
The head of state noted the contribution of the former President of the European Commission to the strengthening of relations between Kazakstan and the EU.
President Nursultan Nazarbayev has received former President of the European Commission José Manuel Barroso, and expressed gratitude to his for the participation in the forthcoming meeting of Astana Club, Akorda reports.
Nursultan Nazarbayev noted the contribution of the former President of the European Commission in the strengthening relations between Kazakhstan and the European Union.
"I am glad to receive you. I have always supported Kazakhstan, leading to a partnership agreement between our country with the European Union. For the time being, the document is being ratified," said the Kazakh President.
In his turn, José Manuel Barroso thanked the head of state for the warm reception and the invitation to take part in Astana Club's work.
"It is a great honor for me to see you again. I remember you historic visit to Brussels during which historic solutions to establish cooperation between Kazakhstan and the EU were adopted. I am glad to see that Kazakhstan has remained stable and plays an important role in the region," said the former President of the Eurasian Commission.
