Nursultan Nazarbayev toured around 'Asem' educational and learning centre
Following the visit to Aktobe, the Kazakh President highly appraised the efforts of the region's Governor's Office to achieve the key social and economic indications and the implementation of the national programmes.
The head of state got familiarized with the activity of the educational centre for gifted children focusing on the creation of favourable conditions to implement intellectual and personal potentials of children.
The Centre's pupils held an excursion for the President around training rooms and laboratories.
In turn, Nursultan Nazarbayev told the youth about the 'Bolashak' scholarship programme, Nazarbayev University, Nazarbayev Intellectual Schools and their total impact on the country's economy.
"The region's youth strives to get an education in the oil and gas sector. Nowadays, oil prices are quite stable, but after some years they will decline, and oil production will reduce. Thus, it is necessary to choose the speciality that will be in demand in the future," said the head of state.
During the talks with representatives of the public, the Kazakh President noted that Aktobe region was among the fast-growing regions of the country, and underlined that over 20 years the population of Aktobe had doubled and exceeded half a million.
"Thanks to rich natural minerals, the developed production and mining sectors, Aktobe turned into the centre of West Kazakhstan," said Nursultan Nazarbayev.
A positive dynamic of social and economic development in the region is seen, the head of state outlined a number of matters announced in the recent Address to the people of Kazakhstan and should be resolved within the region.
"From 2019, the minimum wage has increased by 1.5%, which reflected on the well-being of 40 thousand Aktobe citizens, half of whom are public employees. I am sure that large enterprises will support this initiative," said the Kazakh President.
Nursultan Nazarbayev emphasized the issues of development of transport infrastructure and the improvement of local road qualities.
"Taking into account the region's geographical location, it is necessary to expand transit capabilities to trade with the EEU member states," said the head of state.
Addressing to journalists, the Kazakh President highly appraised the activity of the region's leadership in achieving the key social and economic indications and the implementation of the national programmes.
"The region's economy increases, roads are constructed, as well as schools, the urban infrastructure develops. The well-being of Aktobe residents improves. The local executive bodies should focus on improving the residents' living standards and further development of the 'Five social initiatives' and 'Growth of Kazakhstan's Welfare: Increasing Income and Life Standards' programmes," said Nursultan Nazarbayev.
