Kazakh chess player Zhansaya Abdumalik wins BRNO OPEN 2013
Four-time junior world champion and international master Zhansaya Abdumalik won the men's international tournament ‘BRNO OPEN 2013’`s Czech Republic TOUR series.
About 70 players from 14 countries participated in the tournament. She defeated five international masters and six international FIDE masters and scored 7.5 points out of 9 possible. The total score is above the requirement norms for men`s international master. The rating updated after the tournament will allow Zhansaya to get the degree of female grandmaster.
"This is my first OPEN, which I won among men. I was very happy when I won six games and had three draws. Thus, I added 32 points in my rating," 4-time World Junior Chess Champion Zhansaya Abdumalik said.
Vladimir Chuchelov is Zhansaya`s coach. He is a well-known grandmaster. Thanks to his supervision the 13-year-old girl won the silver medal at the World Junior Championship among girls under 20 years held in Greece, Kazakh TV reports.
"She had to sit on my knees to see the board. She was 12 years old. And she played against the girls at the age of 18, 19, 20 years," Grand Chess Master Vladimir Chuchelov said.
Zhansaya aims to become the third in the world among women and enter the elite top players in the world.
"I dream about becoming a world champion among women. Now I'm getting ready for this. I watch my future opponents. I want to be a world champion before I am 15," Zhansaya Abdumalik said.
