Kazakhstan senators approve bill on decriminalization of economic crimes

Kazakhstan senators have approved the bill on the further decriminalization of economic crimes in the first reading, BNews.kz correspondent reports.


The Bill is aimed at decriminalization of the number of economic crimes, which do not pose a danger to society. Thus, according to the provisions of the bill, it provides: partial decriminalization, by narrowing the grounds of criminal responsibility; decriminalization, that is, mitigation of measures under criminal law, including removing the penalty of deprivation of liberty; replace the penalty of deprivation of liberty for a restriction of the freedom, reducing the upper limit of the penalty of deprivation of liberty; optimization sanctions upper limit of the penalty of deprivation of liberty; optimization of sanctions through the consolidation of alternative non-custodial sentence, improvement of the criminal code on economic crimes, expanding the scope of application of administrative res judicata.
