The project Garage will be a part of the Astana hub.

For the first time in Astana, a free program for incubating Garage start-up projects was launched. Presentation of this platform where they can work, as well as young developers and entrepreneurs, was held today in the center of energy research in the EXPO area, correspondent reports.

The official opening ceremony was attended by Minister of Information and Communications Dauren Abayev. In his speech, he noted the importance of opening this project.

"This cannot be called the opening of the Astana hub, it's a small step in a big direction. By the end of the year, we will certainly hold a full-fledged presentation, a full-fledged opening in the new building. Today our task was to make a small location, a small place where, without waiting for an official opening, people, companies could come here and could get some kind of acceleration, synergy," Minister of Information and Communications Dauren Abayev said.

In his speech, the Minister noted that the opening of the accelerating program takes place in the year of the 20th anniversary of the capital.

"There is a huge and big work ahead, which we will all have to do together, both legislative changes and the creation of certain better-quality conditions. We understand this perfectly and we will do it with your help, with the help of the state, and the relevant political will of the head our state,"he stressed.

According to the organizers of the project, Garage will be an excellent platform for developers, where they will be able to undergo 3-month free training, test the idea of their start-up, create a minimal workable product and attract the first customers.

"Garage is the preparation for the main start of the Astana hub, which will be presented in September, that is, any startup before launching its main product, it launches a prototype. This is today the prototype "Astana hub."(..) this is a training program, so that our start-up team of entrepreneurs learned marketing skills, management of start-ups. The second very important component is mentoring. We invited existing entrepreneurs, they will instruct the team," project's developer Magzhan Madiyev said.

As part of the presentation of the project, participants of the Garage start-up incubator will also be announced today. They, in turn, will be selected by mentors.
