Kazakhstan, Cuba sign the agreement on visa-free trips
In Havana, the ambassador of Kazakhstan to Cuba (in combination) Konstantin Zhigalov and the deputy minister of foreign affairs of Cuba Rokhelio Sierra signed the intergovernmental Agreement on short-term visa-free trips of Kazakhstan and Cuba citizens, the Press Service of Kazakhstan Foreign Ministry said, BNews.kz reported.
As diplomats note, liberalization of a visa regime will promote increase in contacts between people, to growth of tourist streams, and also strengthening of the economic relations between two countries.
The intergovernmental Agreement became an important step in consecutive expansion of bilateral contract and legal base. So, last year cooperation agreements in education and sport were signed, the official agreement on mutual support within the UN according to which Cuba will support the nomination of Astana for a post of the non-permanent member of UN SC for 2017-2018, and Kazakhstan – the Cuban demand for re-election in Council of the UN for human rights for 2017-2019 is reached. A few weeks ago in Astana, the Contract on participation of Cuba in the international exhibition EXPO 2017 in Astana was signed.
According to Press Service of the Foreign Ministry, within working visit to Havana K. Zhigalov held negotiations with the Manager of the international department of the Central committee of the Communist Party of Cuba José Balager and the management of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Cuba.
