Preparations for World Congress of Turkologists have been discussed in Astana

The Congress will be a major event for the Turkic world.

Kazakh Foreign Minister Beibut Atamkulov and Turkic Academy President Pr. Darkhan Kydyrali have summarized the Academy’s work in 2018, outlining the perspective areas of further cooperation, and discussed preparation works for the World Congress of Turkologists that will take place this year in Astana, a press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan informs.

“Given the necessity of enhancing the brotherly relations between the Turkic nations, developing Turkology science as a flagship of the Turkic civilization, as well as implementing the programme article of President Nursultan Nazarbayev “Seven facets of the Great Steppe,” the Ministry give special attention to and ready appropriately facilitate the scheduled events,” said the Minister.

In his turn, Kydyrali thanked the Ministry for the constant support and informed about the upcoming international forum “The Great Steppe: The Cultural Heritage and Role in World History,” which is also supposed to take place in the UNESCO headquarters (Paris) involving scholars from the Turkic Academy states in mid-year.

It has been noted the World Congress of Turkologists will be a major event for the Turkic world aiming the onset of reviving world Turkology, as well as an in-depth analysis and fundamental re-evaluation of the current state, achievements, problems, and prospects of world Turkology.  

According to Atamkulov, the cooperation between the Turkic states is in new conditions of its development and the Head of State attaches great importance to bring the Turkic nations together.

The Turkic Academy was established at the initiative of the Kazakh President in 2012 as a scientific center in the human and social science, and a single focal point for Turkic science in the current situation of inter-State and inter-ethnic integration. Its headquarters bases in Astana.
