President outlines necessity to promote agriculture in Nothern Kazakhstan

New markets are open for the region. 

The head of state visited the Kirov Plant that produces devices of railway automatics, telemechanics, communication, security system, and equipment for the oil and gas complex, BNews.kz reports referring to the Akorda press service. 

During the visit, Nursultan Nazarbayev heard a report of Nothern Kazakhstan's Governor Kumar Aksakalov on the region's social and economic development, the industrial projects and the progress of the Address's instructions. 

Having heard the report, the Kazakh President noted the effectiveness of the regional development programme in the context of the preparation for the International Cooperation Forum of Kazakhstan and Russia. 

"A huge work to develop Petropavl has been fulfilled, the economic figures are within acceptable levels, The growth rates are high and above the national average," said the head of state.

In addition, having underlined the region's agrarian potential, Nursultan Nazarbayev pointed out the necessity to promote the agricultural sector in the region. 

"Agro-processing are within a good level. I set a task to increase labor productivity in agriculture by 2 times, which is directly relevant to the region. The only way to increase productivity is to develop processing and exports. New markets are open for you," said the President. 

Nursultan Nazarbayev also dwelt on the results of the construction of housing and infrastructure facilities, as well as the results of the social programmes. Thus, in 2018, over 6 thousand citizens of the region obtain new housing, wages of over 150 thousand employees will be increased. Also, roads of regional significance have been reconstructed. 

After the end of the meeting, the head of state met with the region's public. Residents and activists of the region expressed gratitude to Nursultan Nazarbayev for the social programmes adopted and the full attention.
