Prime Minister Sagintayev presented green techs int’l centre
The center was established at a base of Astana EXPO-2017 exhibition complex’s infrastructure.
Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Bakytzhan Sagintayev presented International center of green technologies and investment projects in frames of Astana Economic Forum, BNews.kz correspondent.
“Today the world develops rapidly under the influence of the technological revolution and this global changeover demands from all governments and countries new types of actions, namely advance international cooperation on the most complex and sensitive issues of world development. Of course, one of such complex challenges is to ensure economic growth, social stability and ecological balance in the long term. This is one of the cornerstone issues in global security, "Bakytzhan Sagintayev said.
According to the head of the government, Kazakhstan as a country having huge natural resources understands its responsibility in providing of sustainable development of the world energy security.
"The agenda until 2030 and the Paris agreement demonstrate that world community generally is ready to united efforts on climate change. And today we are honored to present our contribution to this process - the International Center for Green Technologies and Investment Projects, created on the initiative of our President Nursultan Nazarbayev with the support of the world community," the Prime Minister added.
Sagintayev pointed out that international center was established at a basis of the EXPO-2017 international exhibition held in Astana last year and is a continuation of ‘Green bridge’ Partnerships program.
"We hope that as the first technological center in Central Asia it will be a stable institutional basis for sustainable investments, an effective mechanism of the new green technologies, and innovations from developed countries to the developing world. It will contribute more harmonious coordination of economic, social and ecologic factors of the sustainable development which will be appropriate for all group of countries both advanced and developing states,” the Premier noted.
According to the head of the cabinet of ministers the government of Kazakhstan is committed to the strategy of developing renewable energy sources and reducing the impact on the environment at the regional level.
"Our long-term approach is that environmental protection should not be a hindrance, but a symbol of technological and economic development," the Prime Minister said.
Chairman of the Presidium of the Association of Environmental Organizations of Kazakhstan Aliya Nazarbayeva was present at the presentation of the international center of green technologies.
"Given that there are very few international structures in the world for integrated support of green technologies and investments, the Association members and Kazakhstan entrepreneurs hope that the Center will become a "single window" for green business and will be a reliable partner for foreign investors. We sure the Center will be a logical continuation of green Kazakhstan initiatives, such as Expo-2017 and the Green Bridge Partnership Program, "Aliya Nazarbayeva said.
According to Nazarbayeva, the Association of Environmental Organizations of Kazakhstan initiates the introduction of new approaches to the formation of economic policy. First of all, taking into account environmental factors and orientation to modern world trends in the field of sustainable development.
"Focus, taken by us demonstrates the interplay of economic, environmental and social indicators that are synchronized with the vector of the last World Economic Forum in Davos. For example, the study of Spanish scientists, conducted in 119 European cities has shown that where environmental protection measures were effectively carried out, GDP grew by 20% per capita. Given this factor directs us to assist in achieving stated national targets, including several thematic areas," Aliya Nazarbayeva announced.
As Aliya Nazarbayeva stressed the environmental measures monitoring, ecological situation evaluation is of high importance in the activity of the Association. Besides, digitalization, blockchain technologies to fight with climate changing will be in the focus too.
As reported earlier the AEF is being held in a new format. 500 guests from over 24 world countries take part in the event. The agenda of the Forum: resource sustainability and longevity to global security and the organization of megacities of the future. The forum will discuss 11 topics. Among them: urbanization of the population; the fight against inequality between the rich and the poor; The problems associated with the loss of anonymity due to the development of information technology.
