Yulia Putintseva reached the second round of Australian Open by outperforming No.32 Czech Barbora Strýcová in the two sets with a score of 6:4, 7:6 (7:1), championat.com informs.

Yulia Putintseva hit one ace, scored 9 points and shot 12 unforced mistakes, whilst her opponent fired one ace, served 15 winners and 30 mistakes.
The Kazakh tennis player will meet with either Swiss Belinda Bencic or Czech Kateřina Siniaková for the third round of the competitions.
