Scotland admired of Kozy Korpesh and Bayan Sulu adapted version
This year the festival gathered together about 50 thousand participants all over the world.
The musical and drama theater named after Nartai Bekezhanov from Kyzylorda took part in the Fringe international festival of arts, which takes place in Edinburgh which is taking place August 3-27. Akbayan performance was presented to the audience from August 6 to August 8, the BNews.kz correspondent has learned from the press service of the governor of Kyzylorda region.
The Edinburgh Festival Fringe is the single biggest celebration of arts and culture on the planet.
Every August for three weeks the city of Edinburgh, Scotland’s capital, welcomes an explosion of creative energy from around the globe.
Every year thousands of performers take to hundreds of stages all over Edinburgh to present shows for every taste. From big names in the world of entertainment to unknown artists looking to build their careers, the festival caters for everyone and includes theatre, comedy, dance, physical theatre, circus, cabaret, children's shows, musicals, opera, music, spoken word, exhibitions, and events.
According to organizers, 3700 performances of various genres will be presented this year.
Head of Kyzylorda musical and drama theater expressed gratitude to the organizers of the large-scaled event and the government of the Kyzylorda region for the support of and providing such an opportunity to be involved in this international event and present the national culture of Kazakhstan at this platform uniting best collectives of the whole planet.
Artists from Kyzylorda presented Akbayan performance showing national color and Kazakh culture through national dances, games, and sports - asyks (bones), kokpar (National games on horses of Kazakhs), tug of war, and national costumes.
"One of the requirements of the organizers was to keep the timing of the performance. The legend of steppe love of Kozy Korpesh and Bayan Sulu, which originates from their birth, named Akbayan had been adopted in 55 minutes. Music, scenery with national color, costumes and game were very popular with the audience and this is the most important for us, " the head of the musical and drama theater said.
In addition, the theater's actors also gave impromptu short performances at various venues of the festival.
The theater’s repertoire includes - many performances of various genres. The theater’s staff consist of a youth troupe, a puppet theater and a drama collective, total - about 50 artists.
Earlier the theater visited Turkey, Azerbaijan, and Great Britain.
